Guagueyvo, an Indian village meaning "where the eagles nest," is located in th Cooper Canyon.  I first traveled to this village over thirty years ago when a Tarahumara man came to our mission looking for help.  Many of the children in his village were only a couple hours away and asked if we could come and help.  The mission clinic was well stocked with medical supples so we decided to pack the necessary supplies and leave out early the next morning.

My backpack was quite heavy but I didn't think to much about it since I had hiked many times through the mountains anyway.  Besides that, he said it was only a two hour walk.  Well, my backpack seemingly became heavier and the walk much longer.  Eight hours later and more than 20 miles behind us, we topped the last ridge.  We could now see the village of Guagueyvo below dropping over 5,000 feet in elevation from Guaguachique where we had originally left.  We still had several hours to walk before we would actually reach the village located at the bottom of the canyon.

The experiences ahead of me were life changing, and I thank everyone for all of the prayers and support!  May God richly bless you!
